Contraindications and limitations
MRI uses a strong magnetic field, so not all patients can undergo the test. Absolute contraindications include:

• neurostimulators, infusion pumps, cochlear implants,

• metal foreign bodies (e.g., in the eye),

• certain types of orthopedic implants or vascular clips,

• first trimester of pregnancy.
