Doctor Joanna Walecka is a specialist in orthopedics and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system. Her area of special interest is the conservative and surgical treatment of shoulder, elbow and wrist conditions. She is working on developing the use of platelet-rich plasma in the treatment of orthopedic conditions. In the future, she would like to focus on minimally invasive surgical methods.
She is a lecturer at international conferences of the European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. She is secretary of the Polish Shoulder and Elbow Society. She spent a year interning in shoulder and elbow diseases at a clinic in the UK. She is also a recipient of the prestigious SECEC Travelling Europe fellowship.
