Hip joint ultrasonography - Rehasport
The hip joint ultrasonography involves an assessment of the hip
joint cavity and the surrounding soft tissues using an ultrasound
scanner. An ultrasound transducer is applied to the patient’s joint
and used to view particular anatomical structures in real time –
the examination is minimally invasive and painless. The indication
for the hip joint examination is acute or chronic pain, motor
disorders and assessment of post-traumatic or degenerative changes.
The examination is used to assess the femoral head and neck
outlines, muscle insertions, iliotibial tract and hip joint cavity
in terms of exudation. After the examination, the doctor develops
an impression, attaches the image and gives it to the patient.
Contraindications for an ultrasonography examination
- a relative contraindication for performing an ultrasonography
examination are open, unhealed wounds at the examined spot
